3/16/2007 Join Sassy Onesies in their support of the March of Dimes!
One of our favorite internet stores, Sassy Onesies, has a personal connection with the March of Dimes. In August of 2005, co-owner Jennifer gave birth to a baby girl 8 1/2 weeks premature and weighing 2 lbs 2 ounces. Now a 19 month old healthy, happy, curious, bundle of toddler energy, Sophia serves as their reminder to give back. Preventing premature births is more than a cause - it's a passion over at Sassy Central.

Sassy Onesies is joining Jennifer's family in participating in the annual WalkAmerica event in Richmond, Virginia to help raise $3000 for the March of Dimes. You can help too! Through April 28th, Sassy Onesies will donate 10% of each sale to the March of Dimes.

If you would like to make a personal donation to help the Yeager family reach their goal of $3000 (and you absolutely positively SHOULD!), please visit Jennifer's website. Cut and paste the following in your browser:

These gals are super duper fab; you should definitely check out their great selection at www.sassyonesies.com. They sell all sorts of cool onesies...including yours truly, but of course... ;-)
12/7/2006 Giving back is such an amazing gift.
Well, we finally dropped off the treats for our adopted family yesterday! Buying presents for Frankie, Rene, Antonio and Roberto was just such an amazing experience. We don't know them...they don't know us...but we loved being their Secret Santa this year. We're sending them wishes for a Very Merry Christmas and are hoping that 2007 is the year that everything gets back on track for them! God Bless...
11/6/2006 ADOPT A FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS!
Mighty Politey has adopted a family for Christmas and, if you can swing it, you should too!

This is one of those things that we’ve always wanted to do and talked about doing…but sadly, have never gotten around to. I am SO excited that we’re finally taking action!

The Salvation Army’s Family Services Department provides assistance for so many families, but they can’t help everyone and that’s where we (you and me!) come in. It’s so easy! Based on what you can handle (however big or small), they select a family for you. Once you’ve agreed to what you can take on, they send over the family’s “wish lists”. You learn more about their situation and get to know a little about each of the family members…their names, gender, ages, and their individual needs and wants.

And then…you SHOP! The wished-for needs and wants are not extravagant by any means and just remember...your “adopted family” really can use these items. You never meet your adopted family; their identity remains confidential. Instead you wrap your presents, label them and drop them off at The Salvation Army…you are totally a Secret Santa!

Well honestly, I think it’s just brilliant! And anyone who knows the real Mighty Politey knows that her alter ego is a girlie elf who absolutely LOVES Christmas!

Okay, so this is what you do… If you’re in Southern California you should call this nice woman named Esther Casas, Director of Family Services, @ 213-607-0196. If you live elsewhere I suggest googling “Adopt a Family for Christmas” (that’s what I did!) or going to The Salvation Army website.

Be inspired and spread the word to your friends; together, we can bring Christmas smiles to those less fortunate. Every little bit counts, right?
